Issues connecting my PC to my 360

My current setup is as follows....

PC in room1, has a usb wireless adaptor that connects to a wireless router downstairs.

360 in room2, connects to a Belkim Wireless Bridge via Cat5 cable, which in turn connects wirelessly to the router downstairs.

I can browse on the net and have Live running both at the same time.

The PC is running XP and i've downloaded Media Player 11 and gone through the step by step on the MS website about connecting the 360 and PC together, but while trying to find my 360 through the media player settings it just doesn't appear.

What's happening, any ideas?

manually configure an IP address for it !

I have my Xbox360 plugged into my laptop via a CAT5 PATCH LEAD and then my laptop connects to the wireless router and this works fine.

I had to assign an IP though as my router was doing it automatically and they then had ip conflicts!
