ITB Race Filters?

I know of there been race filters for the V6 airbox and things like that. Ones that have to be cleaned quite oftern.

Does anybody know of a manufacture that produce a Race filter for an ITB set up?

Also a question for people who have run different filter on their ITB cars, which filter is best.

There is a huge Pipercross filter that Silent-scone uses, is the bigger the filter the better?

I had the first Pipercross filter that K-tec distrobuted and i felt that the car ran better with that on than the ITG item then ended up replacing it with.


Any advice would be great

The problem with ITB filters is restrictiveness if they are dropped right on the end of the trumpet. The second problem is that every ITB kit has different clearences in the engine compartment / different fitting techniques.

The best way in my opinion is to get a backing plate (just like mike's (silent-scone)) made up ideal for your requirements, and get a pipercross filter made to that spec.

I think i cant use yours set up with the 90mm trumpets on Jenveys, I'd have to get shorter ones

Well yes as yours has a backing plate, but no as it also has a form of plenum chamber - I was referring to a backing plate & sausage filter.

But wouldnt i have to get it mapped again with the shorter trumpets to get the most out of it?
