I've broken my computerz0rz!!!1! Need help!

  A Beautiful R32
What was the HD doing before it exploded?

I have had two HDs die on me in the past year (no more pants HDs ftw)...

The two that I had die were both making a clicking noise before they went.

The last one died with very similar symtoms to yours.

Just because you cant boot it doesn't mean the files aren't there, so you might not have lost everything. What I did was buy a new HD (like this one: http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Comp...+F1+SATA2+7200RPM+32MB+cache+?productId=30998)

And then I did a fresh vista install on the new drive. After that I hooked both up at the same time, went into the old drive from windows (booting from the new drive) and copied all the important files over.

I was really lucky that it worked as the HD was deffo broke.

Hope that helps.

ps. Have a look in your comp, what is the HD called and what does the cable look like that attaches to it? Phone camera pick would be an idea so we can see what its like...

pps. Oh and if it is clicking then it will break again so back EVERYTHING IMPORTANT up.
