I've got her a clio

Well after pondering over the thought of getting my mrs a write off i've finally done it and bought her a wee lil clio.

1.4 mk2 ph1, 101k miles, cat c, 1 owner from new, £565

Not much damage at all so won't take long for me to repair. I might even repair the door rather than get a 2nd hand door to keep the costs down a bit.

Once i've repaired it and mopped it all over it shall look like new.

I'm pretty pleased considering i've seen slightly less mileage clio's with a nasty smack up the front end (lights, bumpers, slam panel, rad, flitch etc) going for around £200 more than what i've just paid.

It will be, i'm very tempted to put 172 bumpers etc on it, depends how cheap I can get them.

I do love a project like this. Every car I have had prior to the 172 has been a write off.

I'd bin that door though. I think you will struggle to straighten out the door frame.

172 back bumper is the same, just CC'd. Front would need wings and skirts so would raise costs.

I don't think she'll really want it looking like something its not. i.e 172. I just think it would look better but its not my car I suppose even though I have just paid for it.

Door won't be a problem it's just whether I can be bothered to do it.

565 seems reasonable to me but then I live in SE England wherer you buy a loaf of bread with a tenner lol. damage don't look too bad either so cost wise for repair will be low
