er, really?
i bought a new genuine renault part off ebay a month ago, i've just been out to fit a reconditioned pump and noticed that there's a bit of fluid inside where the plug goes.

and the seller said:
Hiya Kristian, I have spoken to people alot more in the know than I am and they say thats absolutely fine.

Hope this helps.

i'd like to think he's right, but i don't.

No it shouldn't leak but its not uncommon for them to do so. Just replace it they're not a great deal of money. Unless you're saving the replacement you got off ebay is leaking?

Where is it leaking from? Body of the sensor?

Is it definetly tight enough without going mad?
