Juddering

  Renault clio 172
Hi I have just brought a clio 172 and when the revs are below 2000 and you put your foot down it judders for a bit then the power kicks in, any idea why this is happening.

thanks

Coil pack? Bad plugs?

Whipe the plugs out and check them over

Thanks for the reply I have changed the plugs to the correct ones and the coil pack looks new, do you think it could be the fuel injectors?

Doubt it unless your management light it on.

Does it sound knocky? like a diesel?

I assume that this is just under load and not sat revving?

Dephaser is probably knacked then, throwing the timing out until the VVT kicks in

Chris, I paid £1000 for it, code reader found nothing

I think the loud knocking noise would suggest that a code reader would be as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

I assume you didn't research these cars before buying?

Well, if you want to change the depahser, you need to do the full cambelt kit too. You're looking around £650 all in with one of the specialists on here.

Or, what you will probably do, is take it to your mate Dave's garage, who will charge you £300 because "it's all bullshit, you dont need the right tools", and they will f**k it up royally. Timing out etc. Your choice.

Cheers mate I did some reaserch before buying one the knocking noise stared a week after I got it plus I thought it would be ok cos it had all the works done at 70000 and its only on 90000 now
