Just a quick update and getting used to my camera.

Had the camera 3 weeks now and have only managed to use it once :eek: so I decided to give it a go tonight.

Went to a car park I knew was lit for some pics. Experimented with some of the settings. Still not 100% happy with the outcome. Bit too dark on some of them :(

Then I tried outside under a lamp post. Again, to dark. Not sure what I was doing wrong though.

Some of the pics have a weird blue "water" effect reflecting on the car. I imagine it was from the roof. Any tips on how to avoid something like that?

Since the last time I put some pics up of the car, it was sat on 16 inch anthracite turinis and that was it.

Now it's on 15 inch OZ F1's, lowered on ebaich sportlines, k-tec stealth with centre section and decat and a pipercross panel filter.

I also got pulled for my 3/4 plate so got a blank full sized plate waiting to go on :( and I have to remove the front tints as I got pulled for them too :(

the car park doesnt seem too well lit tbh, could try a longer exposure so the camera takes in more light.

It looks like you used flash on some of them photo, this as daft as it seems makes the photo darker in some cases. The best way to get a good photo with not alot of light is to set it up on a tripod if you dont have one of these to hand you can always use a wall the is near by aslong as you camera won't move or fall of course. Once you have done this you can then use a long shutter time something along the lines of 4 sec seems to work well. To make you pictures better detail try to lower the ISO or just leave it on auto. Saying all of this I am no means a pro I am just some kid with a camera. Im sure others on here may have better advice but this advice seems to work well for me.

Didn't want to splash out on a proper DSLR as I:

A) Didn't have the cash
B) Didn't know if I would use it enough. If I do, I will upgrade.

Cheers mate. I'm thinking of heading out again tomorrow night, so will give this a try. I was using the flash for some of the pictures. Bit odd that it makes darker pics. I need to figure out how to change shutter speed as I was trying to do that but had no idea how lol.

Fair enough, I've no idea how the settings work on those. But as above, tripod, long exposure and large aperature are all your friends.

Will for night shots you need a long shutter speed. And for a long shutter speed you need a tripod to stop camera shake. Direct spot lighting wont always help.

This picture I took the lighting is just off to the side, and i had a shutter speed of about 6 seconds on a tripod.

That pic is awesome mate.

Ok so a tri-pod is on the to buy list lol.

Also realised that photobucket has raped the pics. They look ALOT darker on here than the original copies.

You with a quality camera mate you need to host them on flickr. It doesn't (destroy) your pictures so bad. If you dont have a tri pod rest the camera on a flat wall and also use the timer to stop camera shake when you click the button to start.

The 1st pic was taken with the camera on the floor :eek: I love it.

A quick tip as well mate, once you get your images, the ones you really like. Don't be affraid to edit them. Heres on of yours Ive done in 2 seconds.

Its not amazing at all but you get the idea.

<3 I love your honesty.

I'm still learning with le camera. Only ever had a point and shoot thingy.

Car was washed yesterday though, and then I drove some wet roads :(

Try taking some day time pictures mate, (to start of like) and maybe a bit of SRP? You seem to really be missing some shine, especially for a black car!!!!

I never get the chance to take day pics at the moment. Only day time I get is Saturday's and I was out earlier lol. Polishing in the dark doesn't work. Tried it once, failed miserably.

Looking good mate, good to catch up with you yesterday. As for the camera, that's why I bit the bullet and traded my Fuji in for a DSLR. Haven't looked back and they're not as complicated as you think.
