Just bought a short shifter for my 172

I understand it is a short shifter in a set. and what is it the bolt added for? where it should be fitted in?

And one more question regarding the OEM bushing to be fitted in short shifters loop: it is a bit to small the original one seems it is worn out. Should I fit a new bushing or it is Ok a bit of free play?

I've got the same one plus the selector but no one on here seems to want to answer it or have a guide pissing into the wind waiting on a reply mate
