just fitted a decat, now sounds really tinny

Right chaps i have a k-tec stealth ss cat back and this weekends fitted a milltek decat on my ph1 172, since fitting the decat it has become extremly tinny especially at 3k. has any one else found this with that combo as the different makes shoudnt be the problem.

Yeah mine went much more tinny and raspy but that's how I wanted it.

Do you have the supersports stealth or normal stealth

im presuming its just the normal stealth as it has a center silencer, as i think the supersport one only has the rear silencer?

Yeah if it has the center silencer it's the normal one it will sound tinny but slightly deeper once it's run in

Get the supersports centre section get rid of mid silencer

Mine's the same, if you rev hard through the 3k tinny noise, you don't really notice it but if you're driving normally and sit at 3k for any period of time it sounds like it's rattling.

Doubt it. I've had mine both with a centre silencer and without one. All the silencer did was quieten it down but just as raspy/tinny.

i have the same setup and mine never sounded "tinny" . Once some coal/s**t has build up in there it must get better

I have a ktec supersports on my 182 and a decat it sounds good

it's raspybat certain revs but deep at others, I know it's a different system lol

decats sound crap on a ph1 if i was you i would just dump it tbh - i can dispose of it if you want

also check if all your mounts are "hanging free" , no metal contact. Think of the space the exhaust needs to expand/shrink , and adjsut all mounts to be able to cover this. It can cure a LOT of inside cabine resonance/ noise

My whole car sounded tinny as f**k with a decat when it was running (ITB F7R). I changed it to a silenced decat and it took ALL of the tinny'ness out.

So swap to a silenced one if possible if you dont like
