Just fitted my YS 172 road system

  Chocolate Bar™
just been for a bit of a blast the long way home, and Oh my doesnt it sound nice!

those that say the road system is too loud need to seriously have a word as for me its perfect. so as soon as its had its MOT it'll be decatted

vids will be up as soon as ive stolen my gf's phone :)

man who fitted it said it was the nicest fitting and looking system he's seen in the last 10 years which is a bit of a compliment in itself.

nope, i opted to have it sit just below the bumper and to leave it uncut, as it would have just been a tiny nick into the bumper.

to get a good fit we had to move it out slightly, so it sits about an inch out from the bumper but i really like it, so i dont care what anybody else thinks lol

and before anybody asks, it doesnt feel much quicker but certainly picks up a bit keener.

Get that decat on mate!

Just had mine refitted, took it off before xmas for mot.

The difference in noise, and pick-up, is amazing. Think im going out for another drive... :D

desperately want it decatting, but no point paying good money when theres an MOT due, and ive also got more important things to get sorted. such as having to have my spare fitted as the insurance company are knobs and getting 2 wheels powdercoated. its all money :(

Glad you got it fitted mate, knew it'd go on somehow ;)
Good to see your new mod threads rolling in again!

Middo

You get it fitted at Silver Systems?? If so how much/ how long did it take?

James

i did indeed cost me 50 quid and did a stunning job as he had to modify it to get it to fit

pics wont be worth it, as i had it moved out so it was inline with the bumper, but it comes out a little bit further than i would have liked. so its not a true representation of how yours would fit.

wheres my stickers

Hard to tell from the vid how noisey it is, what's it like when sat at 70-ish? :)

I've got a 2 box powerflow system and it's a little too noisey so got a nasty feeling this would be louder :(

yoz offered to make me a shim to fit in, but said i needed to decat it and buy a ph2 cat. yes, technically the better and proper way of doing it, but i just couldnt afford to do it that way at the mo. plus the fact you didnt have stock of the decats was an issue, so i just thought i'll get it on to cheer me up after just getting it back :)

at 70, its a little bit boomy but more than liveable with.

you have a mk1 172 cat on there?

you just need a mk2 172 deat to mate upto that system

you need approx 4x10mm (aprox) spacers if you're running with a mk1 cat, no need to get a mk2 cat

yeah have got a mk1 twin cat on there, so was around 40mm that needed added onto the system. just got my local place to put a spacer in so it fits lovely.

took a couple of ok ones today, but im sure there will be a few high res ones after the star city meet tomorrow. hopefully someone will bring a proper camera and get a good vid.
