just got my clip sport think it needs a gearbox mount already need help on which one

i just purchased the car yesterday cheap and there seems to be a knocking noise when you accelerate and then let off the throttle it sounds like its coming from around the gearbox area low down so ive had a look on ebay and there are 2 types of gearbox mount the upper mount and the lower mount but i dont know if these will fit my car its a phase 2 53 plate clio 172 would be most greatful for replies as to which one i should be purchasing thanks luke.

It will be the lower 'dog bone' mount and/or top mounts.

I would check for engine movement first, my money would be on the top engine mount. Ktec do a solid one to replace it (they also do a gearbox mount but don't waste your money), also you can buy powerflex bushes for the lower gearbox mount (dogbone) to further reduce movement.
Also - check to see if your exhaust has been banging on the ARB.

i have been in touch with the guy i bought it from i said to him im not bothered i know there is a problem with the car do you have any idea what it might be and he reckons its a driveshaft where am i best taking the car to get it checked because im really not sure what it is thanks luke

Don't know anywhere up there I'm afraid.. Can anyone you know recommend a good garage? RS tuning in leeds isn't a million miles away but hopefully there's a good garage near you.

okay mate thanks for your help ill just try a few see what they say if i dont get any joy ill try leeds
