i bought an inspiron 6000 in sept, spent around 700 on a laptop for uni and its a really good laptop, and i dont believe in warranties so i got rid of the 3yr warranty which cost 200 notes i believe so i got a deal...

the phone call i had said do i want 3yr parts warranty and at home service for a discounted price of 116.87 so i said can ya ring me back...

they rung back at exactly the time i said after 3pm, then i said to the man ive only got £100 in me account so they did it for £94.33 fooking sweet so im gonna abuse this 3yr warranty!!!

nah not collect and deliver, they come to ur house and fix the problem or give ya a new computer!!sweet as!!

i complained as i didnt wanna send it off for 14days as i need it for uni work!!

well chuffed starts in 7 days time so ill be gettin them down to change the dvdr drive as its fooked allready!burnt too many cds

Dell are AMAZING for that, ok their parts might be total pants and cheapo korean crap, but if anything goes wrong, they'll help you out. Mate of mine had a dell, his ati card gave up after 2.5 years, he called them up, they gave him a NEW card and started his warranty from that day!

Because I got my new Dell PC through my work (Edinburgh Uni) I get a free 3 year warranty collect and deliver service because of some education agreement. Happy days!

they will more than likely not be able to repair it in your house, and ask you to send it away... costing you postage

We got 4 Dell Servers at the same time, we had to have 2 replaced before they'd gone into service!!

Saying that though, never had any issues with their desktops and laptops, very good, I got a free one from work too.

funny that as i quite often have them sending me parts to fix them or if they want to do it they will repair a laptop without taking it away

well apparantly they will give me a new lappy if they have to take it away, well thats what theyve assured me anyway!
