k & n Air filter for 1.2 16v

  Clio Sport 16v
Hi All,
just wondering if these are worth the cost?
increase sound?
not really bothered about performance as its a 1.2 lol

i had my original airbox making a nice sound but i took the filter out and gave it a shake. Since then the sound has stopped, any ideas why? i shouldnt think it was dust etc.?

i know its only a dotty engine but it had a little note to it! :)

Thanks, mike

Another local, hi. For the cost of it new induction kit don't bother, as its only noise its going to be making. If you can pick one up second hand then go for it.
Alternatively get a high flow panel filter, will give slight gains and a little more noise.
As for the origional making more noise id go with the others, open box or pipe fell off.

If its just a kn panel filter you are after(that replaces the std paper filter using the std airbox) then these are fairly inexpensive, £20ish, and should give slight power gains and an extra bit of noise.

Open Air Box

thanks to the guys who helped me solve the prob.
Can anyone tell me what damage would be done by having an open airbox?
u can only hear the noise gains at around 5k rpm or wen u bury your foot.

thanks, mike

Well if something goes into the engine, then it can really f**k it up... and hard to repair.

Don't do it. Not advised.
