Thinking about getting a set of pro race 2s ( still 16s) and want to lower the car without spending a fortune to set them off.

Are the k-tech -30mm springs anygood? as on there web site it states improvments over standard cup units or will they just ruin the set up of the car!

any thoughts people thanks

With my old 172 I put some springs on an within 2 -3 month the dampers where leaking oil, there have been a few on here that have had the same.

So Id recommend getting coilovers or a full kit of spring and shocks. IMO

Really dont sound good, didnt know if it would rub either as dont want to start removing wheel liners ect

  VW ....

they will defo not rub on a 30mm drop on 16s .

why not consider Eibach pros which will transform the handling ten fold & drop it ??

never heard of anyone having a problem with dampers with these on .

Cant comment on the K-tec springs .

  VW ....

Pros are springs on theyre own .... lookin at around £140 .... not the cheapest but best all round for drop & drivability IMO.

thanks will look into them what drop do they give, not sure weather or not 2 stay with an et 45 offset

Stay to et45 as the 182s have a wider track than 172s so wheels with a lower offset will be further out and closer to the arches

eibach pros are progressive springs too, i think they lower 20mm front, 15mm rear on a 172, not sure about 182 as they sit lower standard
k-tec and www.motorsportworld.co.uk arround £140

the k-tec 30mm kit isnt progressive, apex do a 40mm kit too and they are arround £95 from motorsportworld and bbperformancetuning

used to have gaz coilovers on my vts thought they were a very harsh ride and not that great, didnt wana go back to this so progressive prob best, but if elbachs lower 20 and 15mm on 172 does this mean only 10 and 5 mm lower on cupped 182?

I would go for the 40mm Apex springs...they are the only ones that lower the car a decent amount. Also, progressive isnt always best ;-)

Ive had apex on a couple of cars...people that dont like them are fairys lol. The ride is far from harsh or even hard imo! But yeah, personal preference plays a big part...

u could try Eibach sportsline newish springs from Eibach i think they have a drop of 35mm i dont know if thats all round mind but lower and stiffer than the pros
