Kangoo and Clio Mechanical similarities

Got a bit of a project in mind and was thinking of putting a 172 engine in a kangoo. Can this be done without fabrication, i had the feeling all the engine mounts etc lined up and the subframe etc was the same, the plan is to fit a 172 dash inside the vehicle as well, im just wondering what the likelyhood of the engine etc fitting right in are?

yes a conversion on these can easily be done - have considered doing one for a bit now. The 172 engine fits in perfect

Ropey old kangoo; £500 upwards. Ideally one with a snapped cambelt or a fcuked diesel pump.

Smashed up clio £5-700.

Labour to fit it all in; Depends on who does it.

Why would you willingly cut and shut it?.............

It's a direct fitment engine-wise.

Aren't some Kangoo's 4x4 to? That would be interesting or would cobbling the 172 motor to the Kangoo's box be too hard.

That 4x4 system is fragile enough without nailing a 172 block onto it!
