Keeping my ping down..

never thought I'd say this but I miss AOL, once I'd removed the software anyway lol, it was only 512k but my ping was always below 50 and mostly below 30.

Am on 1meg (maybe 2 meg soon) wireless NTL, its shared, so everytime someone in the house downloads something up goes the ping and I get booted...

...is there anyway to hog the connection or give my pc priority (don't tell my house mates i asked lol)

You need a router which supports QoS, to sit between the network and the NTL modem.

Then you can start shaping traffic..

yeah nothing worse than ya ping getting worse but ya bandwidth going up
