keeping standar changer and controls

the 6 disc changer under my seat is a renault one factory fit but i noticed its an alpine changer??

so will an alpine headunit with cd changer control be able to control the 6 disc changer?

will it also be able to retain the stalk controls? (prob need an adaptor?)

was thinking about getting a headunit with screen/dvd player built in.

i have have a clio 172 mk2 2003 model , which has a 6 disc multichanger
under the passenger seat, i know its a factory standard one but , i
believe it is made by alpine , so if o get a alpine head unit is there any
possibility that i could continue using this

alpines reply
Hi, im afraid not that changer is designed to work with the standard fit
unit, it is not Alpine aftermarket specification...

Yup, only compatible with the Renault HU.

Get an MP3 player and adapter that means you can still use the Stalk control

arse about cd changer.. but if i had a DVD player id be able to fit loads of albums on one dvd anyway..

that alpine head unit says about dash display compatability.. wonder if that is compatible with the clio dash display?

im planning on adding a alpine head unit and a ipod , then use the h u to control ipod. should save having cds

Hi, at the moment we dont have a steering wheel solution for Renault, the
04 models have changed software so we are currently waiting for new parts (should be out in Oct )

Are you referring the CD changer in your boot ? if so then it wont be
compatible Im afraid, though it says alpine its built to Renault spec !

I have just put an Alpine H/U with the i-pod adaptor in my x plate 172. The display comes up with the time and temp but nothing extra. I am getting a bit of kit so the steering wheel controls can work again.
