BIGASH/FF-Racing X85 Clio Cup Racer Project

Shell, loom and electronics for sale!

Hi I am advertising my Renault Clio MK2 race car shell as a package and it will include the electronics so ECU, Race Technology Dash etc with the full car and engine loom, Battery etc please see full itemised list below. If there were any bits you didn’t want then that is fine and obviously if it doesn’t sell whole then I will be selling the shell separately to the loom etc but thought I would do a cut down price for the whole lot to go as one.

Body panels will be available too if the buyer is interested then I can see what deal we can do for the above and the panels.

The shell is currently SORN but could be MOT’d and taxed and then reinstated on the roads.

This package really is good to go just transfer over the mechanicals and you have a good to go MSA ready race car!

The shell was originally prepped with the brief of safety at the forefront of our minds hence no expense spared 10 point custom rollcage fitted by Rollcentre which triangulates all the suspension pick up points along with the rear beam mounts. The car had all the excess metal fixing, brackets etc removed for weight saving along with all the sound deadening tar panels. The car also has motorsport weld in seat rails for both the driver and passenger. The gear linkage is moved back to allow the seating position further back which results in a much better weight distribution. The interior, roll cage and engine bay were then painted Audi Ibis white.

The shell will include a nearly new heated screen so no risk of misting up and no need for the weight of the heater system.

The wiring loom was designed to create a reliable solution to replace all the existing stock Renault wiring looms which as the years progress are becoming more and more unreliable. The loom contains a full chassis loom, engine loom on motorsport bulkhead connector with heatshrink covering and labeled cables, Racetechnology Dash 2 display complete with Oil temperature and Oil Pressure sensors and this takes all the data stream from the Specialist Components Typhoon 2 ECU which is also part of the loom. The loom then has what in motorsport is widely recognised as the only reliable cut off system the solid state Armtech cutoff which is fully integrated into the loom along with the provision for an Electrical lifeline fire extinguisher. The loom also has provision to run the Clio EPAS system and has the adjuster system and controller integrated into the loom so it would just be a matter of fitting a Clio EPAS column and ECU and it would all work straight off.

The wiring loom is then terminated into a modular fuse and relay board which I have full wiring details for and this is located on a carbon fibre false floor in the passenger footwell. Also situated on this is the ECU, Armtech unit and battery. The false floor has custom stainless steel standoffs which then house another carbon fibre false floor which covers the electronics and allows a passenger if required.

The loom also has provision for power starting using 175Amp Anderson jack which is on the cill of the car. Everything on the car was positioned in the car while the car was on corner weight scales to optimise the weight distribution from the position of the battery to the position of the fire extinguisher.

The loom package will include the main power switch panel which is located by the gearstick which is used for turning the car on and also adjusting EPAS, operating the heated screen etc and also the 10 button steering wheel button plate which is used for things like the indicators, headlights, wipers etc

Below is a list of the items I would like to include with the Shell kit as said any of these can be taken off and the price adjusted. Next to each item I have put the price I am looking for each item separately and then please see my total package price.

· Shell (Stripped shell, motorsport seat rails both sides, 10 point triangulated Rollcentre cage painted gloss white, Rear 3/4 P4P polycarb thermoformed windows) £2750
· Wiring loom with steering wheel button plate and switch box, fuse board, Full chassis loom including EPAS wiring, ECU loom, Engine loom and chassis loom with carbon false floors £1600
· Dash (Race technology Dash 2) Oil pressure sensor and oil temp sensors (supplied with F4R sump with boss welded in for sensor) £550
· Specialist Components Typhoon 2 ECU £475
· Armtech Cutoff £220
· Braided Fuel line with rubber hose adapter to tank then -6 Aeroquip hose with aeroquip fitting and fuel tank £75
· Roof vent £150
· Fire extinguisher (Lifeline electrical system only a few months since serviced) £225
· Battery PC680 (Only 2 months old) with battery cage, battery cabling and Anderson jack £100
· Race technology Can interface for SC ECU £95
· Flocked 182 dash top £100
· Drivers carbon false floor £75
· Heated windscreen (only used once) £200

So the total of that lot is £6590 but as a package I am prepared to do it all for £4500 and please get in touch to discuss payment and delivery options.

On top of this you can get first refusal on the data logger system and body panels to compliment it but otherwise I will just sell them separately.

I am always keen to speak with anyone who is interested but please don’t waste my time if you have no interest in buying it.

Thanks for your time and please see the attached pictures. Any questions don’t hesitate to ask and I hope you can appreciate the time and money that has gone to get the shell to this standard and it really would make someone another great race winning car!

Hi James,
Any chance you've got some pictures of "Braided Fuel line with rubber hose adapter to tank then -6 Aeroquip hose with aeroquip fitting and fuel tank" I'm interested in how you attached to tank etc. Seems the fuel lines are dead underneath my sunflower, think the rabbits have been eating them as it was stored outside at a caravan storage place for 14 months!!
Cheers
Nath :)

Catcams solid lifter finger follower kit £2450 Brand new (RRP £4000)

This kit have been developed with motorsport in mind where engines need to be pushed harder in order to make more power. One way of doing this is by using more revs but the standard hydraulic follower set up will only take a certain amount of revs before it struggles to keep up with the engine speed. Replacing these standard hydraulic followers with a mechanic slipper follower set up allows the engine to rev high and produce more power. Solid lifters on their own can be used but over certain engine speed it is common for the rockers to become dislodged which can cause engine failure hence Catcams have made this kit.

This is a complete kit and is supplied with Inlet cam: 303° and Exhaust cam: 295° camshafts, slipper followers, lash caps, double valve springs, spring retainers and camshaft pulleys. Engine dyno testing has shown this kit to be reliable to 9,000rpm and has been used on a high compression engine to produce 284bhp and 190lbs/ft of torque at 8,500rpm.

replied on the other thread will pm now :)
It's only when epic cars get broken, you can really see how much effort and parts went into building it :(

But, parts of it shall live on in various other cars ;)
You should have seen the original list over half the stuff was sold before the advert went up so the list was well over double the length lol!

Yeah thankfully it will although will be sad to see my car scattered around haha

So selling stuff is going well :) The loom has sold along with lots of other bits!

The shell is still available and will come with the heated screen and the rear 3/4 polycarbs other than that pretty much a bare shell. I am looking for £1750 ONO but need it gone as its parked on my trailer which I need to go and collect the new car (Didn’t think it through)

The remaining parts are for sale here: http://www.cliosport.net/threads/for-sale-all-parts-from-ff-racecar-listed.767382

New car has arrived :) wasn't planning on getting it till next week but they needed the space so happy days!

Can't wait to get out in it! Few jobs on the list,

Need a bit of stickering and de stickering.

Put a seat in large enough for anything other than an infant!

Give the car a proper once over and hopefully start to understand the differences between this and the old one.

Set up inc ride heights, corner weight and geo

Modify a road exhaust to fit so I can take it to Bedford and then go do lots of driving!

What are thoughts on Michelin stickers? I'm thinking remove.

Very excited!

f**king awesome!!

I'm not a fan of the Michelin stickers personally.

The car just looks awesome!!

Even though I follow the Clio Cup championship I know very little about these cars. What weight they are? What power they realistically put out?

Would be awesome to see this at Bedford if you do find time!

Slicks too.... mmmmmm

Do I dare ask what one of these costs to buy, or are you keeping it a secret :)

New car is all kinds of awesome, so glad I managed a few passenger laps in the old girl, was simply brilliant. Good luck with future plans.

Regards the exhaust, could a removable silencer be fitted to it for quiet days, or does the whole system need to be swapped out? Very jealous btw!

Yeah might loose the Michelin stickers when I do the livery but will have to put them back on if I do any races in the Michelin series!

Going to dyno and compression test it next week but on the Cup racer exhaust they do around 210bhp. Weigh around 1000kg’s no driver but will confirm once i’ve had it on the flat patch for corner weighting :)

Don’t want to say exact price but was between £15-20k
That's lovely bud! Good buy!

Lack of passenger seat at Bedford makes me sad 😧
Thanks mate :) It should have one in time for Bedford ;)

Yeah its properly noisy at the moment. I’ve got a road back box for £30 and going to get someone to put a join on it in the same place as the standard join on the cup racers so its just diffuser off and bolt on bolt off. I might just get a quiet stainless system at some point if its not going to loose me too much power.

Haha it will get tweak here and there for reliability but no real modifications planned at the moment just have fun with it! I’m sure in the future will end up doing stuff but have fun first :)

  Mini GP2
Wow.... that is pornography..... although i prefer your garage set up to be honest :D let alone the contents of the garage.

What airbox/induction set up is that ? i am guessing that could not be done to a regular 197/200 due to the location of the fuse box and battery ?
