Key Card Lost - 197

I stupidly lost my wallet last night whilst out on the p**s lol and it had my key card in it.

Is it possible for Renault to re-programme the code or something so the "lost" card wont work if some little scrote has it and tries to take the car off the drive.

Also how much is a new key card, this is going to be expensive isn't it

Well yeah, thanks for that tip ....

It just lived in my wallet so never really thought about it tbh, plus I have never lost anything before on a night out, no matter how wasted I was lol.

Just though of something else as well, the card has that little pull out key on it which you can unlock the door with, will I need the lock changing as well or is that abit extreme as they wont be able to start the car with it or anything.

Yeh fraid so, will be about £120 for the card and the emergency key bit to be ordered from france then an hours labour for the 5 min job of coding the key to the car. b******s, but they've got you over a barrel.

Take it you have a spare?!

Just a re-programme will mean if the old card is found it won't correspond with the car.

key cards are around £160 ish, may take a while to source though.

One thing though, the emrgancy keyblade with the lost key will still work with your car as the locks still the same, but its unlikely someone will use it on your car.

why is it unlikely?

If the wallet was stolen I'm guessing it had driving licence in it, which has an address of the car on it!?

Incorrect, its half an hours labour to programme a key in.
Go in to your dealer with identification and your V5, they can order a key from there, 5-10 working days to come in then it can be programmed. It will cost you between £140-150 Inc parts, labour and vat.
The old key will no longer start the car.
Emergency key blade will only open the passengers door and will set the alarm off straight away anyway, they will have no way of starting it or getting the steering wheel lock off.

I got key cover for £12 with my insurance. I'm fully covered for replacement of my car keys plus any other keys attached to it.

I don't take it out of a night out anyway.
