Key phob + ecu

If I change my engine including ecu, what happens with the key phob? will I need the one what goes with the new ecu aswell? Care to share your wisdom anyone, thanks

I guess it needs to be synchronized... by the stealers.

the key will have a chip in it that is "connected" to the immobiliser. if you don't get a key with the ecu then yes it'll need to be synchronized by the dealer, although i think third parties can do it cheaper.

You need the key chip which you can put in your old key fob with the old blade so the lock set is usuable still

my key phob key doesnt open the doors manually, but works in the ignition and petrol cap, and then i have a spare normal key that works in the doors and petrol cap but not the ignition, ive tried figuring it out but with no success maybe the petrol cap has a universal barrel or sumin, anyway that doesnt bother me coz i use key phob, just trying to get as much info I can before I convert the engine to something with some more horsies lol

Sounds an interesting set up! I'm bad enough keeping hold of 1 key, maybe you would be better getting a complete lockset at the same time more than one key must be a right annoyance!
