Knocking from top of engine

I've got a 55 reg clio 182 thats done 87k
Its got quite a loud and fask knocking coming from the top of the engine.
A mechanic has had a look and taken the rocker cover off but cannot see any visual damage.
Ive recently had dephaser pulley and belt done.
Anyone got any ideas?

Its happening all the time
On tickover and slightly louder and faster when accelerating
sorry no vids its still at garage been advised not to drive it

Sadly, we can't really do much without hearing it. Does the garage who did the timing belt have the correct tools?

Ye all correct tools
he stripped it down 3 times incase he had done something wrong
it soulds like it coming from under oil cap sounds like something has been starved of oil but there is no visual damage to anything

I hope they secured the cams before taking the rocker cover off, or do you mean the inlet?

not sure tbh he mentioned rocker cover im not very good with engines
