koenigsegg Render...

Something I did while waiting for a few other visuals to render. I usually do visuals of kitchens and interiors, thought I'd give this a whirl...

C+C welcome :D

I was going to say, if you'd modelled the car too then change career! I'm studying Transport Design at University and that's of a high level!

Have you tried rendering in solidworks or showcase?

Not bad for the quality of model, i have no idea how capable the programs you use are.

We use Alias Automotive to model (industry standard for anything automotive) and either Maya of 3DSMax to render with VRay.
Previously i have used Bunkspeed to render but i prefer maya now, showcase is ok but is limited.

my work is at www.adrianbarron.co.uk, the agent i currently work for is Optic we work for nearly all the Major OEMs in UK and others

where do you study? what year?

Yeah, as mentioned, our systems are setup for interior furniture visuals, my dream would be to do this sortve thing for the automotive industry, or maybe the gaming world. I have no quals though, all self taught and learnt from reading ect. I love it so anything to do with it is just pure enjoyment :)

Can you do degrees in 3D modeling/visualizing???

  Bora.
ArchiCAD is my modeler, all renders done in Artlantis. Postwork done in PhotoShop

You into this sortve thing too?

I study computer based architecture and model buildings both commercial and residential buildings i create on Revit Architecture, do all details such as foundations walls etc on AutoCad and use 3D studio Max for renders and creating videos.

Nice Library part you have downloaded there ;)

"ACCamera" gave it away to me. I use ArchiCAD daily.

I made no stories about it being a library part?!?! And the ACCamera is the generic term for the first camera angle, ACCamera_2, ACCamera_3 ect for subsequent angles... of course you knew this though.

No I know, just messing.

I have got a huge array of different cars. When I do any housing development renders, I see how many supercars I can fit in around the regular cars without people saying anything. Cheap sub-urban housing, with Lamborghini's and Ferrari's in the driveways, Lol.

Brilliant!

Start parking Maybachs in council estates..... in fairness, with disability and motability extras, they probably could have one, if they downgraded their 5-room, all-channels, HD Sky package.

Haha I know what you mean, with some of the kitchen renders, we have TV's and the like either in the room or in the background and I always try and get away with photoshopping something like Topgear or the F1 onto the screen, make it look like that's what their watching!!! :D

well, kind of both.

compliment on the skills.
joke on the quality of Auto Express's "exclusive images"

Ahhh sorry, I know Auto Express have a bad rep, hence my confusion!!!

Another one I have been doing, again, the model is from the web, untextured. The building is modelled by myself. I have attempted to make the headlights look like they're actually on, using neon shaders and spheres in ATL, then photoshopped the DOF and contrast levels afterwards..

Id be more interested in seeing some of your own models, rather than renders of other peoples.

The Z4 is a much better environment, also has better lighting. I would benefit from an occlusion pass tho, as there's not much in the way of shadows.

Only reason I didn't post any of my own models is it's of kitchens, and I thought nobody would be that interested in anything like that, but seeing as you asked...

Design 002.2 Edited by Eddie the Kid, on Flickr

That was all modelled by me, bar the stools, hob, laptop, flowers and office chair. They're standard objects that people often use with this sort of thing, we're not designing the stools for example so I can't warrant spending hours modelling them!

Textures and shaders are a mix between standard ATL ones and some that I have altered/custom made myself (flooring being one example, and yes it is supposed to have inaccuracies in the grout lines!) Walnut is also a custom texture, I took some photos of large end gables and using PS made them into custom textures, with a small amount of bump and ambiance ect.

As with the cars, the flowers were an untextured .AOF model that I coloured in if you like!

The lighting is probably brighter than a photo would be, but the customer needs to see everything properly, so there isn't much I can do about that!

Hope that's of more interest :)

Mace has epic skills.

Wish I could use a computer properly and do things like that.

Mace knock up a quick kitchen design, it'll only take 5 minutes.

Aye unfortunately being a little new to the forum I can never tell what is a running joke and what isnt!!! :D

Thanks for the comments though, I really thought people would ask why I'd posted pics up of kitchen renders!! Glad they've got some appreciation :)

The kitchen looks good, with renders of the cars it looks like you have made the car, not just rendered them some people my not appreciate what goes into each stage so if you show something you have made from start to finish then we know you have done it all, if you know what I mean.

You should post wip of the cars your working on, i might be able to give you some feedback while your working on them, although im not familiar with the software you are using, iv an idea of the principals of 3D

@mace, what is it you do other than sarcasm?

Good work, mate. I must admit I'm more into realtime rendering and visualisations but everytime I see something like this I'm tempted to pick up my old raytracing project from years ago! *thumbs up*
