Koni Adjustables

  Was a Clio 1.8 16v

I need to know about how best to adjust them.

Ive heard its on a scale of 10. Does this mean the screw on the top mount will click 10 times in either clockwise or anti-clockwise?

Any1 with these shocks care to help? Thanx

How do you adjust the rear konis, as the instructions that I received with mine state that you have to depress a button under the black plastic sleeve and turn the shaft. However mine do not have this button, but are labelled up as Koni adjustables.

Cheers

James

James the instructions are sh*te, you need to take the TOP bolt out, on the shock there is a brass coloured end cap on the end where the piston rod goes in - knock it off with a screwdriver( it wont resist ) under there is a white plastic disk with a hole in it, and under that hole is a small button - push it in, turn the head of the shock to adjust (1,2,3) and then let the button pop out, you should then be able to turn the shock head qo line up wit the car again without affecting the damping.

put the plastic doofer back over the hole and press the cap on again.

hey presto...

took me a while to work out were that button was aswell!!

your only playing with rebound damping..........so, in essence it doesnt do much but slow the rate of return.......only good on sooper smooth surfaces otherwise you end up running on your bump stops.....

Keep them on teh softest and as they wear, just tighten them up again......thats all its good for.

Soft is anti-clockwise then?

Can i use pliers on the front little adjustable bit?

Clio16vPaul: I dont understand this;

push it in, turn the head of the shock to adjust (1,2,3) and then let the button pop out, you should then be able to turn the shock head qo line up wit the car again without affecting the damping.

Will it make sense when looking at it? What do ya mean by shock head?

Er, not sure it made sense to me either...

It will become obvious when you do it, push the buttton in and turn one end of the shock while holding the other, so that the damping is adjusted, it has 3 stages and will click on each, so you may have to push it in again. once you have set it where you want it you can then let the button click out and rotate the end of the shock so that it can be lined up again with the mounts on the car.

Its simple when you do it!

no reason why you cant use pliers, but go careful your not forcing it the wrong way cos pliers are going to be more brutal than the top knob Koni gave you.
