501 led sidelights. you can get 4 led and 6 led versions. the 4 slots in fine but i changed to the 6 led which needed some grease and they went through the hole too.

Looking at getting some of these as well. Looking at getting brake light ones as well, what code bulb are the brake lights (mk2 ph2)

Ive got the 4 led ones.

They just look like a sharp white light instead of the dull orange glow.

They match my white bulbs.

obviously you dont know HOW good they are !! they are engineered properly not just a bunch of cheap led's stuck into a holder with no real though on how it will perform

Nah!! you just don't want to feel the only one seen off for paying stupid money for LED's

Unless they light up the road like your main beam have a word with yourself.

the break/tail light ones are shite. i had them, but when back to regular bulbs. they just dont give off enough light, and in the dark its not so much a glow of light you get, but a tiny circle in what is a big cluster by comparison.

I've just returned to filament bulbs, obviously I dont have the funky xenons you and your FF 172s etc have so just wanted some 'whiter' side-ies rather than ones to match the xenon blue......so got some white LED recently to whiten the side lights to match my OSRAM Night Breakers. The LED 501's I got from Halfrauds, were

a) £9.99
b) the 4 LED type
c) 'white' (with a strong blue hue)
d) lasted a month till both were running on 2 of the 4 LEDs and one developed a potentially dodgy flicker........
e) the back of the the pack says 'only for off-road use'.....err, whoops :rasp:.

So.......I took them back and got the large 'frosted' single LED type instead:

a) got £3 back (were only £6.99)
b) were not as bright.......bluey white glow worms in my clusters (also could hardly see them in the day)
c) also 'only for off-road use'.....err, whoops again...
d) got fed up and bought some OSRAM Cool blue W5Ws to match the Night Breakers I've got (H4 and H1) which......are.......so.......so......much......better! All the bulbs look the same now and are a lot more white and smarter looking compared to standard Halogens! Result......

AS before get these

Ok point taken........but for me like I said, my experience of the LED-bulbs I described was poor, and therefore I dont want any:

The ebay ones you found/have bought/etc look good, and I assume are of better quality/brightness than the ones I bought from Halfrauds, therefore yours would be appropriate for Full Fat RSs.......with Xenons. As I said mine is without......I was just giving the other people interested in LEDs my experience from one supplier and hopefully it will be usefull to someone.

those £45 ones do look a bit excessive although they also look like they will last a limetime !!

Got the L.E.D's off ebay, well happy with them look real nice next to xenon. Came from france LOL ;)

..but are they really worth it?

Has anyone had any bother from the police re them? Do you need a ballast pack like you do xenons?

i put in some cheapy ebay led six months ago (for my if that makes a diff corsa) and they are fine. think they cost 2.99 or somthing.

My cheap ebay xenon whites have just blown, Well i think one has. Could possibly be a loose conection.. but i doubt it. Ive brought another cheapo set for 3.50 for now. Im going to look into some better well made ones like the ones linked in this thread for the future.
