Alan .

  Half stripped mk2 172
That is basically ^^^ it. On rwd cars you can specify the type you want 1.5, 2.0 or 3.0, which basically means welded up diff!!! Not good for road applications, and has to be used only for drag racing, ie straight lines!!!

The one you have basically transfers power to both wheels instead of just one wheel spinning. People may say that it induces understeer on tracks, personally i wish i had one on my 172.

Vince

Its handly if its properly done on FWD no spinning the whels coming out of bends the Focus RS had one which was argued by Evo and Jeremy Clarson to be to strong.

Ignore them mate, decent car the BRM, especially with the recent drop in rover prices. Never going to have the handling and go-kart feel of a 172/182 but can hold its own.

Not a lot you can do with the engines without spending stupid money. Get rid of the cat, fit a decent filter and I would advise a steel head gasket if you ever get any problems with yours :)

Check out www.rovertech.net lot of information and a decent bunch of people.

Thanks mate . Yeah it was a right stele at the price got lots of toys and one keeper and full Rover S/H . Just going to get a few bits and bobs like a Air filter exhaust etc but thats it . No problem with the Head gasket as of yet ( touch wood ) but if it was to go i would get the steel head .
