lack of range on mk2 ph2 key fob

hi guyssss,
right ive got a mk2 ph2 and ive had two keys one whch renault replaced because it broke, both have only worked from a meter ish away when im pointing it at the drivers cabin,
my friend has a mk2 ph1 and her key reaches 10 20 meters?
surely renault didnt downgrade the system on later models
(1.2 dynamique 51 plate)
is there a part in the car i can swap and increase the distance it can work

Try fitting a new battery to the fob firstly? As of where the receiver is, I have no idea, but I don't think anything would help increase its distance..

Although I once saw that holding the fob to your head and pressing it helps increase its range!

ok im to cool to hold my key fob to my head everytime i want to unlock the car and its happend on both keys so i dought its the battery cause this ones about a month old

i also have this problem, i got a new battery and it sorted it for like a week and now its gone back to be ridiculously crap range.

mines is crap but doesnt bother me because you only want the car unlocked when your getting into it so your obviously at the door? and if your wanting it locked just do it when you close the door? it isnt really of great importance imo haha.
