Eddieb Car A slow one :-( Jun 25, 2006 #1 Hi, My sony vaio laptop's cd drive has given up on me and basically needs replacing. I really need to format my HD badly as it's running well slow. Is it possible to boot from an external cd drive which would be connected via USB?
