Laptop connectivity [VGA] tp LCD Screen Problems

When I connect my laptop up to my LCD screen i just shows me the desktop background.... no icons or anything else.

I have checked my display settings and all seem OK... when I click on identify my laptop screen is 1 and the LCD is 2.

Can someone pls help

It's in dual screen mode.
If you want it to display the same or instead of, you need to mess around with your settings.

Ive looked in them and there is nothing relevant I can change

When I scroll to the right of my monitor it appears in my LCD screen - like its an add on to the right. How do I get it so that it only displays my main screen?

what Daz said change your settings, screen properties. properties, advaced,

Not to worry - I just drag Nero showtime to the LCD screen then enable full screen mode

Now need to find a walkman type earphone connector to scart/audio in, connector cable - so that I can conect my laptop to my surround sound system.

Anyone know where I can get one from?

wa? Dont you have a jack output on the laptop and a stereo input on the surround sound?

ahh, tough so as that is the lead i use, i got mine from the high street. Maplins iirc.
