**Leaking Coolant**

Fook me, this one is a mystery.

My car has been running hotter and hotter over the last week or so, i eventually decided to have a look and my coolant has been leaking to the point where it is now below the 'Min' level.

The mystery is though, where is it leaking from - The cap was screwed on super tight and all the tubes running out of if were on correctly and tight yet it has been leaking from somewhere around the container as there is a big patch of crytals collected on the metal bracket it sits on and the cables, cv boot etc below it.

The only thing i can think is that it has become cracked but theres no evidence of this and i cant see how it could have happened either.

Has anyone else got any suggestions?

You may have a smalll crack on your expansion tank, Have a look when the engine is hot, see if there is any water dripping/bubbling out.

is the expansion tank the see through container that holds the coolant?

ill check it when its hot but surely if there was a crack in it then there would be some crystals on it where the crack was but theres nothing - aaaarrrrrrrgggggghhhhh

Perhaps your car would run cooler if you put coolant in it rather than crystals? :rasp:

but the coolant turns to crystals so if it was cracked and was leaking then the coolant that had leaked from the crack would turn to cyrstals and would leave some sort of evidence that it is cracked!!
