LED Bulb change (pics)

Today some Led 501 Wedge bulbs arrived from ebay.

They where cheap, something like £2.99.

Was an absolute b*****d getting my hands behind the light clusters to change the bulbs. Right hand was easy, left was hard. And i hear the 1.2s have a fair bit of space in the engine bay!

Anyway, pics:

No before pics, sorry. Was a murky yellow before, now a white crisp look

right 501 is the small light? h1 is high beam and h7 is the driving beam?
i like those LED's might get some now...

I used to have these in mine but i didnt like the LED ones because they didnt look too good from far. Got my standard ones in for now.

Im not sure about the others, but the led light in the pictures is 501.

Yeah there cheap and a great little mod. I had to sand the sides of the bulb slightly to make it fit through the hole but it only took a second.

Probably, but blue is illegal i think.

i used to have ice blue for my h7's until one broke but i didn't get stopped by police... so guess it "should" be okay...

thanks, im going a bit crazy with lights now... planning to get those 4LED 501, 9LEDnumber plate bulb, some silvervisions or orsam blue indicators and a set of interior lighting... thanks guysy for the link!

No problem, I like the lights as well. Changed the front indicatiors to silvertechs, and just done these 501 bulbs. Think im going to change the numberplate light as well.

I put a blue festoon light in my boot, think its a bit chavy now so i want to change that to white.

They say road legal which is good.

Can anyone confirm these are the normal driving lights. and will they fit my 03 clio ?

yeh the xenons ones are road legal they are coloured blue on the bulb but they just look white when they are on. i got some for mine like that they make a lot of difference to driving at night!!!!

I havent been out driving at night yet.

They seem to be more sharp and brighter.

These led bulbs are for other people to see you when its just getting a bit dark arnt they?

If they're anything like the numerous sets of cheapo LEDs ive had, they'll last about a month before they start flashing! THen just order some more, or get rid of sidelights altogether like i have

Is that legal to drive with no sidelights?

Almost got a fail on my MOT with my LEDs as the examiner said thay were too blue. I then showed him that they were less blue than the xenons.

Looks good, Ive got the 4led xenon white cheapys off ebay atm. But ive oredred some smd white ones in the hope they will be brighter and last longer seeing as they look much better put together.

Will post pictures when i recieve them

yer ive gt them with sum intesne dipe dbulbs, look amazing! but if you think there hard to change, try changing your dipped bulbs! there virtually imposibble!

^^ I think the threat about the 12 month ban was a bit of a frightener, Doubt they can do that.. They would need to give you a producer or something?

Changing dipped bulbs was a pain in the ass, But possible with cut hands lol.

Ive got these new bulbs, Theyre a bit whiter than the previous 4 LED, These are 1 SMD (i think there called) And apparently have a bigger metal heatsink so should last longer.

For the moment im sticking with the 4 LED ones and using the SMD ones as interior bulbs. They should look much better.. And im thinking of modding the interior light to make it more reflective.

Im not too sure what you mean? My side lights are the 501 bulbs. There still the 4 led ones atm, Im using the SMD bulbs (pictured in the update) as the interior bulbs now.

The 4led ones i had off ebay, One of them started flickering when i turned it on then went out after a few seconds. They lasted about 2-3 months. I just brought a new pair for the couple of quid they cost i think its worth it.

When they go again im going to get some more SMD ones (if they last) which im hoping they will.
