Leda coilovers - GDi demo car - WOW!!!

After a trip to GDi today I can honestly say I am stunned - Andy took me for a spin in his 182 demo car - WOW! The handling is something else - Until now I thought that these shocks were massively overpriced and did not expect them to give the qualities that they provide - they really are impressive.
You can hit potholes with out any big bang or vibrations going through the car - bumps are absorbed brilliantly even set at a very low level - But the big plus was the handling - It is so smooth and responsive - Fair play Andy can drive and really gave it some stick but it felt in control all the time - I really want my car set up like this
Has anyone been in both a car with H&R coiovers and one with Leda's - if so what are your opinions - how different are they?

I can compare between the GAZ kit and the Leda's.....GAZ= s**t, Leda's= Awesome ;) H&R's are somewhere inbetween lol :D

thats really helpful gary - nice 1. lol!
I sort of guessed that much but if the gap is too big then I am going to have to get the Leda's. I am very tempted anyway. Nick at Hill Power recommends lowering on H&R's 15mm from standard for optimum handling/ride which isnt enough for me especially after seeing yours and Andy's cars today - will they still perform well lowered about 40-50mm?

See, i'm a real man!! lol

Evo, i tried finding out the springs rates from H&R, managed the fronts but it was in a very odd unit/format

Its calculated using the suspension moment (range of motion and pivot points etc) Its the wheel rate thats most important anyways...just most people use spring rate.

Edit- mate your car was bloody clean, especially as you'd driven all the way from cardiff!! Also, i've never seen carpet so clean lol

i would have expected harder at the front than the back - why is it the other way round?

because the fulcrum is closer to the pivot on the rears so they have to be proportionally harder than the front.

leda's over standard (cupped 182) is amazing. Turn the dampers up and it is rock solid ( to hard for the road) turn them down to softest and they are not far off standard. All the settings in between work aswell to give you fine adjustment to set it up how you want it.

Garys and Andys are to low by the way:rasp:

well I thought it was a good spin anyway - Andy said he knew the road well but you still have to know what you are doin driving like that - forgot to say the car sounds mental as well - ive got an exhaust and air filter but it sounds no where near as good as GDi's car.
Will have to come for a spin with you Fred!

H&R front springs are:
172: 150-070, meaning 150mm long, springrate 70N/mm, 400lbs/inch.
182: 180-070, meaning 180mm long, same springrate

I have no idea how to compare this to springrates on your Ledas, but would like to hear what you think.
Have no clue about the back end.
