Lens decision!! Help!

My current lens set up on my D40 is:

18-200VR
Sigma 30mm

I am considering selling the 18-200VR and getting the Sigma 50-150 EX F2.8 lens.....

Is this a good move? Will it make a big change to the quality of pics?

I'm not sure if I will miss the extra 50mm reach... but this is about the only lens within budget if I decide to sell the 18-200. I know I will miss out on 18-30 and 30-50 but I can live with that.

Any advice = GREAT!

Are you sure you can really live without a wide end?

How often is the focus to slow, the Depth of field to thick or the shutter speed to slow?

No, unless you have a particular need for a f2.8 lens.

personally i wouldn't bother. If your widest lens is 30mm i think you'll regret it.

Other option is to sell it all, get a D90 + 18-105 + nikon 50!
