Like-for-like hire car for a 172?

H

HeatherRS

As my car's going in for accident repair soon... a hire car company are giving me one of their's. They have told me it will be out of the sport range and will be a like-for-like car.
The suspense is killing me... the lady on the phone said it could be like a 56 plate golf gti... but what else could it be because i doubt they will give me that! :dapprove:
Anyone got any ideas? Im just impatient!

I am currently the lucky pilot of an 07 plate Seat Ibiza courtesy car, with 1.4 litres of pure POWER. Seriously, this car is dog slow:dapprove:

The only courtesy cars Evans Halshaw at Middlesbrough have at the moment are the 3dr clio 1.2 extreme. I was told if I rented a car they would compensate me partially towards the cost. (but wouldn't say how much)

  meriva vxr! really ;-)
bet it will be a real slow megane convertible or something similar - sports range usually means group 14 or higher insurance so they always palm you off with a convertibel as its "sporty"! You'll get all excited then be let down...

hire cars are good though because basically you can do all the things in them you wouldnt do in your own car, and your right to do it i had a hire scooter when i got knocked off mine last year and it was an awful 2 and a half y/o sym jet 50cc which retail at £1499, the bill to tesco (other partys insurance) for 5 weeks hire was £1806 how can they justify that it must have made them like over £40,000 in those 2 and a half years and i bet its still going today. so i'm glad i abused it!!!

I got a 1.2 clio extreme courtesy car when mine was in gettin warranty repairs.

Ended up having it for near enough a week as they had to wait for my sum to arrive (old one was cracked! )

OH how that 1.2 got abused lol

Garage is out a country road...Had to park round the corner for 5 mins to let the smell of brakes etc disapear and let it cool down a touch haha!

Made the 182 feel Awesome again when I got back in it!
