I phoned them after getting an online quote and it was about £50 more expensive.
I said "what about mods" and he just said "we dont ask about mods sir".
So from what I can gather, theyll insure my RS as standard for about £700. (over £500 less than my current, all mods declared renewal quote.) It appears that they will insure it as standard and only pay out for standard when it goes walkies/tits-oop etc. Which would mean that Ill lose any chance of getting any money for my mods (which would cost A LOT to buy separately all over again.)
But then, most companies only give you book value anyway, so why bother insuring your mods if theyre not gonna be covered in a pay-out? It appears to make sense to go with Liverpool Victoria if I wont get any extra money over book value if I write it off anyway. ?
I know you can get seperate insurance from (I think) Firebond to cover your wheels/ICE/paint, so perhaps I should go with LV for the car and Firebond for the mods?
God, about a week til the insurance is up - I hate shopping around!!
