Loggy's Arctic 182

Picked this up to replace my aging 172 a few months back. 90k, pretty good condition and came cheap, no mot and a light tapping which I knew wasn't dephaser, but I assumed would be a tappet worn. Mot came easy, with some socks swapped from my old 172 and new rear brakes.

But sadly a weeks driving it with the tapping was a bad idea as noise was in fact the bottom end. Bottom bearing - exit stage left, via block.

So the plan to have a nice low(er) mileage replacement didn't work out so well. Fortuntely the 172 block was sound, and the head was fully recond only 12 months ago, so swapped the block and head in to the 182. At least now I know the belts and dephaser are done and done right :).

This weekend I managed to sort the iffy suspension (one shock was completely empty, no wonder it felt a bit out of shape).

Gaz coilovers fitted (thanks @Weeksy)

Just got to finish the refurb on my new wheels and I can get on with taking it on track.

Thanks for the shout dude.

Looks sweet fella, nice rake to its stance. I think I might need to faff about with mine now seeing yours and dan kitchener's. Mine is too high!

Thanks a lot

As per my other thread in technical, its rubbing at the front, so have raised it 10mm at front, which still isn't quite enough, so may need to come up a but more. Or swap to 195s.

Ah ok got you. I run 15's and 195/50s so I should be ok, although my springs aren't as firm as yours
