2nd ones the nikon d4o which alot of peeps like but i heard lenses are exspensive

3rd ones a pentax but the 4x aa batterys put me off i know you can get good batterys and change them/buy more on the move but will it last like a proper digital camera battery


any advice help appreciated i like my photos but am new to slr cameras and dont wanna buy a crapper lol thanks everyone

D40 lenses are not that bad depending on what you want to do with the camera! I had a 55-200 VR which cost £130, you can get the 70-300 for around 250-300 and a 18-200 for around 250 (ebay - hong kong!)

i love taking marco pics so would prob want one of them iam guessing standard only gets so close or am i wrong there hoe close can standard get to object???

i heard you have to be carefull cus alot of the d40 lenses dont/wont auto focus on the d40 due to a different camera set up of other nikon slr cameras , but then some lenses are ok and will auto focus is this true???

i saw that thread , nice pics , colours are very good i like the 1st robin shot its very very clear what zoom was that??? was that standard lens??? i also like the shot through the foilage to the horses standard lens???
