Looking for clio 182 maybe cup

  RX8 231 ps (modified)
Hi all,

I am looking for a clio 182 preferably with cup packs and have 3.5 to 4.5 k to spend.

I am in the process of selling my RX8 231 so the price i get for that will determine my budget.

There seem to be some pretty tidy examples on offer on pistonheads. Is there anything that i need to make sure is done/look out for?

Has anyone tried the MG ZR 160 and if so how do they compare?

Cheers :)

Good look with that u may get a CatC or D but you will struggle to get a decent straight 182 with cup packs for that money.

i wouldn't even sell my cup for the higher end of that price lol. and as for that Rover 25 I mean MG ZR160. there ok if you dont mind not bein able to ever red line your car for fear of it blowin up then they are ok-ish.

They are well cheap to buy but there is no service for them now and they aint anythin on the clio's on performance not by a long shot

Early 182's (04/54 Plate) are due the 5yr cam/aux belt service this year, certainly worth taking into consideration when buying, as your looking around £600 for that at a specialist. 172's should have been done by now.

Cambelts more like £500 at a specialist (under 450 in jan). I wouldn't get a 182 without cup packs. No reason to get one over a 172 if not having the cup packs.

Ill swap you for your rx-8!

If your serious then PM me.

Thanks for the advice about the cam belt change. They are hefty bills to foot!

I am taking a 182 for a spin on the weekend, also going to take out a ZR 160.

Will see how i get on.

Having had lots of experience with the Zr160 and now driven a few 182's (Hopefully pick mine up on Saturday........Bargain :D)

The 182 is the car to go for in my opinion, the drive is far better in the 182 a Zr feels almost dare i say "agricultural & slow"

I just drove down to London to pick up the M3 I just got! Its always fun getting to know a car on the drive back!
