Loud bang/knock wheel spin and let off ?

Hi guys, as title really.. noticed it tonight, if my car say starts to spin up, and im on full throttle then fully let off i get a single loud bang like something is hitting the underneath of the car .. ? Pretty sure i was turning when it did this too but not 100%..

Any idea what it could be ? Thinking possible dog bone mount ?

Car is fine apart from this corners really well and holds the road very well with no knocks or anything other than when it spins up then i let off quickly...

Cheers

sounds like 'axle tramp' because of soft mounts, if it is, you could probably get away with adjusting the mount on the left hand side of the engine bay. Mark Fish messed with mine to pull the engine forward a bit more and it reduced my noise a lot...

Yeah, i can see a gap on the driver's side, i had a 306 rallye and people used to "chock" this to reduce engine movement so may try that..

it drive's really well though thats the wierd thing so dont think its anything major at all.

Any other opinions :)

^^

yes

i believe it's causing manifold to hit the subframe. When hving your car up on a bridge next time, have a look at how close these two are, from what i remember looking last time there's only about 1 cm clearance between them or less

Ah right, so anyway to sort this out ?

Also when i let on and off the throttle the gearstick moves very slightly backwards and forwards..

no problem dude. i believe the main culprit is the dogbone mount. there is an uprated dogbone from ktec but some people have experienced some fairly serious issues with it - have a little search on here. personally, im planning to replace all my mounts with standard items, and cross my fingers :)

Yeah i had a read about that and think ill just go for the standard one, dog bone that is.

The top mount driver's side looks fine and in good condition.. not sure how to check the one near the battery ?

Cheers again :)

There's one underneath the car near the dogbone that looks like a big square of rubber, squashed between the engine and the subframe. Im not sure if the one under the battery is the same one, but from what ive read you need to remove the airbox and a few bits and pieces to get access from above

Ok ill do the easy thing first and replace the dog bone, also chock the small gap on the one on the driver side and report back :)

just loosened the 4 bolts on the drivers side mount, pulled the engine forward (you can clearly see it move by the marks behind the washers on the mount bolts) then retightened. job done, doesn't knock anymore!
