Lowering how low should/could I go

Got a clio dci mk3 and putting 17s with 45 profile on and want to lower it but still have a good drive and be able to drive over speedbumps without damaging anything help would be awesome

measure how high the speed bump is and make it slightly higher?

I've just gone down 40mm on my standard 165 65 15's and it sometimes clips those big speed bumps however on the normal ones its fine.
