Lowering Spring Trouble... Shaft Trouble... Brake Trouble... Clio Trouble lol...

  Clio DCI
Hiya all,,

Had a nightmare today, took out my driveshaft to replace it and the two new ones i ordered were incorrect, they fitted apart from the thickness of the spline, way too small. Went to a motor factors and then came accross the same problem when they ordered a shaft in.. so the driveshafts that are supposed to be fitted to my car, are not the ones actually on my clio. Thinking it may have been fitted with a 1.9d shaft rather than the 1.5 dci shafts which it should be fitted with. So this shaft will be sent off to be reconditioned over the next few days meaning my car is off the road..

I have the new steering rack ready to replace (sat on the kitchen floor) so thats good to go, and at the same time i need to replace the front disks and pads :( spend spend spend lol

But while im under the car i have decided to buy the lowering springs ive been after and get the car all done mechanically while im waiting for the shaft to turn up.

Does any one know what lowering springs i can fit to the 1.5dci 80bhp 2002 4 door model?

I can see on ebay a few different sets, but most dont say they fit the DCI model of clio, but on the other hand if i was to buy standard springs, the listing for them say they fit pretty much all models of clio. So is my suspension a similar fit to say a 1.6, meaning if i was to buy some 1.6 springs they would fit etc.... Im trying to ask wether or not i could buy springs for another clio, that would fit my poorly diesel car and not sag due to the extra engine weight...

any help would be appreciated!!! CHEERS IN ADVANCE

1.4 or 1.6 are ideal as there designed fort eh similar wiehgt.

Most spring makers just sell the one type though since they fit them all.
