Lowering springs & fitting, where to buy.

  Suzuki SV650

Can someone please give a little bit of advice on what springs I should get to lower my RT please? Ive got 15s on with 195/50 tyres and dont want a stupid drop, looking at 40mm all round ideally. Cant find any springs (so far) for 40mm, just 35mm or 50mm. 35mm will do but 40 would be nice.. (Yeah Im picky like that).

Also somewhere that will fit the springs and reset my torsion bar to match, preferably in the Stafford or Leicester area please.

I know a lot of people have lowered their torsion bar themselves & fitted springs too, but Im not too confident with this esp the bar. Would prefer to pay to get it done (hell thats what student loans are for!!).

Ill get uprated shocks in April/May, just want the springs and torsion bar done asap, as Im fed up with driving round in a tractor

Oh and whilst Im here, brakes.. Mine will need changing soon, I can hear and feel it. There are uprated kits and stuff but could I get bigger discs for my RT? How much am I looking at for some half decent stuff. Not going to uprate the rear drums its not worth it is it?

Cheers fellas (and lasses maybe!)

Avo do -40mm springs - Nick Hill at Hill Power can get them. Hell be able to the fitting and torsion bar aswell, if you wish.. http://www.hillpower.co.ukwww.hillpower.co.uk - You can buy the springs from him though, and get someone else to do the work.

I might go for the Avo -40mm Springs, my -35mm are a lot higher than those.. its weird.

ok, brakes - if you want bigger, then you need to get valver calipers (perhaps carrier?). this will mean you get your 16v brakes, however pedal travel will be longer, and dependin on how bad it is after you have done it you might need a valver master cylinder also - a b*****d to fit acordin to benr.

oh yeah, if if you dont fancy the hassle and want performance without the extra looks, k-tec is a good kit, had it on for a bout a month, nice stopping!

16v brakes seem like a nice idea but that seems like a fair bit of work... Would simply putting uprated brakes on like the Ktec kit or some EBC stuff do a similar job?

not bigger brakes as in from a style point of view, but yeah theyre better than my standards, wear less quickly, less brake dust, and no fade. bargain for £99 IMO!

Yea, I was looking at the K-Tec Fast Road Kit for mine, but then, I fancy it looking good so wanted some 285mm discs or something.. anything which fills my Phase2 16v Alloys!

well yeah thats what i thought, but they dont look bad - obviously not filling the rims but still look good - ill try to get some pics up!
