Lowering springs for 172 cup

  172 Cup
Hi all,

I am after some 40mm lowering springs for my 172 cup, however can only seem to find them for standard 172's. I am told they will fit but will possibly not lower it 40mm as cup model is lower as standard.
Does anyone have any experience on this? Or know where I can get 172 CUP springs from?

Thanks,
Rich.

Hi Rich

I have just bought a 2000 172 Cup fitted with APEX 40mm lowering springs.... I want to change them back to the original springs but can't seem to find any. If you have the original 172 cup springs I would be happy to trade.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers

Tony

hey mate, im not entirely sure so hopefully someone more knowledgable will be along soon.

my understanding is that these springs would git ok (its the shocks that are not interchangable) however as the cup springs are lower already you wouldnt get the full 40mm, but it would still drop it a fair bit.

if you join the club as a member you can view the for sale section where there are plenty of options, one guy is selling some springs off his cup for 50 quid at the moment, he has pictures too so that you can see the drop

Eibach prolines is what you need. O.E hight, look and a slight tighten on stock handling. If you want a subtle drop, sportlines are the way to go. 1000000000000% better than apex.
