LY 182! (With a little bit of vee)

  BG V6, LY 182
So, some of you know that I bought a LY182 off eBay on Thursday (I was only after some Recaro seats for the vee and was bored scrolling through eBay for them and came across this LY). So me and @Stu- set off at 5am On a 700 mile round trip. It said on the sat nav it would take around 6 hours to arrive. So off we went not knowing what to expect. After stopping half way for a leg stretch and a McDonald's breakfast at Chester services, we set off again. The route we took, took us through the black mountains of Wales which have unbelievable roads! (CS should organise a country wide camping trip down there)
Anyway, the last half hours conversation was all about the car, will it be a dog? What problems will it have? I bet the seats are mess. I bet this, I bet that. Anticipation was building.
BUT, soon as we got there all questions were instantly answered even before we got close. The body work, naturally has the odd 'ding' and scrape. But nothing major. The seats were in fantastic condition considering they had been sat in for 87k.
The only issues we could find were a slight blow in the exhaust, a chip in the windscreen, a curbed alloy, and a little miss fire.
So after we shook on the deal, I then attempted to tax it.... What a pain, it must have been the excitement of driving back in it that caused a total mind block. I must have attempted to put the reference number and reg in about 8 times before I finally realised that you need a space in the reg for it to accept it! Silly me! [emoji85]
We decided to drive back through the black mountains again, and we both didn't stop smiling....that was until the traffic jam! 1.3 miles of tail back, caused by traffic lights on the a55 roundabout
We then decided to stop for another leg stretch at Chester services, and meet up with @Knuckles since we haven't seen him in a while. We had a good hours chat and then set off again for the final stage of driving. So all in all 700 miles, 17 hours on the move, £110 v power and We finally arrived back home at around 9pm.

After work on Friday I had itchy fingers to get started with it, so I was able to replace the coil pack, leads and plugs. To fix the miss fire issue. And today I was able to remove the mudflaps, and give it a good wash and take some photos [emoji41]

The Vee was very dirty after yesterday's Lake District meet, so I gave it a very quick wash, and then it started to rain before I got to dry it.

So all in all, I am over the moon with it. However, I'm 75% sure that the seats will be going in the vee. And as for the LY, I'm not too sure, I'm still 50/50 on keeping it. I already have a work van I use daily and the Vee as a toy. But it is certainly growing on me! But time will tell!

Was at Chester services myself a week gone Friday, headed south into Wales and right down towards Swansea to get my brother from Uni and bring him home to Teesside.

The roads were impeccable all the way, especially once the sun was setting.

Did nothing but pish it down on the way back the next day like 😂

Vee looks the bees , LY looks lush as well

Awesome Paul, looks a cracking car and for the price you said you paid it's a bargain!

I still haven'y sorted my insurance yet lol I'll let you know when i'm bringing it.

I did lol @ buying a whole car just to get the seats!

It looks great, tbh I'd leave it alone & get umm, another set of seats for the Vee 😂

Don't be saying things like that, i'v already thought about that, and quickly forgot about the idea. However.....watch this space....

You're winning at clios at the moment lol.

It just keeps getting better lol. Apart from the exhaust and thumb grips, it's completely standard, isn't it?

Whack the trendlines in the vee and get a pair of stu's seats for the 182!

...then sell me it lol.

Glad the misfire is sorted now :).

Always thought LY was a bit girly but everytime I one now, they look better and better.

To think I've sold both these now. Barely had to advertise them, and they took less than 48 hours each to sell

Why the sale of the ly and vee?
Was a bit of a spur of the moment thing really. Just woke up one day and decided I needed a change, posted up saying I was thinking about selling and got offers I couldn't really say no too. But glad I did now.
