No.
They'll stop the old stuff, and just replace it. Generally, prices are the same or better for equivilent products.

Anyone run OSX on pc hardware or vmware on windows?

i really want a mac but a) i cannot afford one and b) i have never used one and wouldnt know where to start.

I have been reading some guides on the vmware installation and seems like a decent choice, i understand it wont be identical to MAC hardware but it will give me a decent trial before saving up

needs to be a intel cpu, and quite a few motherboards wont work. My mate tried it, and unless you buy a copy a copy of OSX it's really hard to crack.

Find yourself a uni student and give them the money to get you one, give them £20 or so for their troubles.

Its 15% of for students, and Apple care is £59 instead of £250ish.

You need to go to the HE Education Apple store from a University PC..
(Well you did a couple of years ago)

They use the hostname of the PC to verify you.. (it has to come from .ac.uk)

Solid aluminum casing, Multitouch, Led Lit Screens.

Usual processor upgrades, price reductions and increased spec.

You can't put a price on genuinely good design. I bought a MacBook for university just to try something a little different. Over the last year it has been excellent!

Considering you can run windows on it definitely bumps up the flexibility/appeal.

I still use a PC at home, can't see that changing yet...

Wheres best place to purchase a mac laptop?

Needs to be wireless, have plenty of storage space, copy cd/dvd's and mainly just used for web browsing.

Any suggestions on which mac is best suited to my needs?

ive bought stuff online through the student website when im not even a student.

That's Student.. around 7%/8% discount I think. Higher Education (where they actually check) is 15% or something.

Aaah ok i get it. That will explain why my brother got a bigger discount when i got him to get my MCP through uni. got the (nearly) top spec one apple care and controller for £1499
