I read that magnesium wheels can be more prone to corrosion than aluminium wheels - is this the case with the Speedline 2020's? Anyone know or had any experience?
I'm having a look tommorow at some of these Magnesium Speedline Corse wheels , second hand off a Cup racing team here in Holland. They are going for different cars next season so they're selling up
But after reading the things mentioned above i'm having second thoughts .. Will these be allright for my daily (actually not really daily but..) car ?? Or are the tyres going to be flat whenever i come to pick the car up from the garage after a couple of days sitting there ?
I was looking a long time for these , 15 inch + only 7,5 kg ! Look perfect + the 15inch drive is also quite nice
Do'nt want the dissapointement later on when paying 600 pounds for them ..
Anybody on magnesiums here that can share ?! Thanks
i have magnesium wheels on my corsa, it was once a daily runner and i never had any problems, and the wheels took alot of stick on the country roads of shropshire. they are 4+ years old now and i still have them, the cars not been driven for 1 year and they are still fully inflated.
just got back ! Decided to buy them ; well at least asked the guy to hang on to them for me and he agreed My car still has to be rolled/mapped first so no money yet ..
BUT THEY'RE MINE !!!!
While i was there i was in Clio Cup racer heaven. A couple of his teammates were working on a car and he showed me another one aswell. He was selling one with just four races on the engine and Sadev sequential box for 13500 euro !!
Quite affordable these cars second hand ! And this one was in a new state too
Real nice guy with an account in Dieppe :approve: ; told me to stay in touch for when i need parts today was a good day
Well i do'nt know about the numbers ; but he had the alu ones there to compare. Did just that and it weighed less than the alu one
They are black also, only available in white or black he said. Yes he also mentioned there is a LOT of demand for these because of limited availability
He had incredibly many slicks stocked up to the roof , and lots of 2118 alu rims stacked up. Just one pair of the magnesium left.
But youre wrong about the price i think ; demon tweeks 412 pounds ex vat !?
