Major Headache

Anyone please help with following problem, I have had the battery disconnected on my 2000 X reg 172 for a few hours while changing plugs, cambelt and aux belt, All back together and the car started straight wawy for approx 5 secs then stopped, Rechecked everything OK but just turns and turns with no attempt to fire, Left battery disconnected overnight reconnected in the morning fired up straight away again ran for 5 secs and stopped same thing just turning making no attempt to fire, Same thing following nite/ morning, HELP !!!!!

Is tehred light on the dash flashing a lot, more than normal and very quickly?

Just checked this the red light that is mounted near the handbrake goes out when pressing pliper and the doors open, The red light in the middle of the clocks continues to flash when tryin to start the engine, Not sure how quick it used to flash before but does seem to flash quite quickly now, Never had any probs statin before this

Anyone now how to reset the key fob/ immobilser back to the car after battery has been off or is it a main dealer job, The doors are locking/ unlocking with the fob but the red dash led is still flashin while tryin to start

sounds silly, but check the red button in the engine bay o/s is depressed, its the fuel cut solenoid (in case you turn it over, it popps out) i knocked it once and had to press it to re-set it

Tried that early on, Did not work, Thinkin it must be something to do with immobiliser with the red dash light still flashin while tryin to start

yeah that is the immobiliser Im afraid, main dealer job

Rang Renault today there sure 'that they can sort it out on the diagnostic' £65 + any parts needed, Thinks they will need to get a code from 'Renault net' and reset it, Not sure how I'm goin to get it there seeing as it won't bl**dy start

Re-connected battery tonite started straight away and kept running stopped/ started stopped/ started rev'd as normal everything seems to be as normal, 3 days of messin and worry for what :S , Just hope its the same in the mornin, R well at least I've my EVO 8 MR as spare wheels
