Make sure your car is LOCKED

  Clio Cup/GSXR 600
Been off work today only to nip out to my car just and find the contents of my glove box everywhere,

No damage to the car whatsoever, bonnet was not latched so they been under there as well.

Took my ray-bans, a blue snap on pencil torch and a pen knife...

But the worse thing they took was My locking wheel nuts? WTF they think there coming back for my wheels, the only thing they'll get is a sledge hammer round their noggin.

Worse thing tho must have left it unlocked so only got myself to blame.

So just a reminder all LOCK your CAR!

P.s. Anyone from derby area gets offered said murchandise let us know i know its a long shot but hey.

I must confess, when i was drunk i went along a street trying to see if cars where open, found quite a few, didn't damage/steal things just openened them and moved stuff about lol.

Mine is always locked, alarmed by a TOAD Ai606, on my drive behind locked gates, under 2 security camera's and 2 Staffordshire bull terrier's!!

I'd like to think it's pretty secure!

Oh and btw I've never done the silly thing of leaving my locking wheel nut key in the car! Does anyone else do that on here??? That's like leaving your front door key on your step!!!

Always tickles me that. Just wait until they're on the side of the motorway in the early hours of the morning and it's pissing with rain and they need to change a wheel...

Easy. Just flag down the next Scottish-registered HGV.

He'll no doubt have a full compliment of locking wheel nut keys.

Keep an eye on him though.

I've gone out to my car (last car) and found it unlocked before, and realised it had been 4 days.

Reminds me of a time when I had my first car, a Cinquecento, and I knew there was a problem with the driver's door solenoid, where it would randomly unlock a few seconds after locking it. All you would have to do is instantly lock it again and it would stay.

One day I was in a rush and didn't wait long enough tos ee if it would unlock itself again, assumed it was fine and went to work. Returned later to find the car looking as normal, but missing my rear 6x9's (yo) and the stereo replaced with gaping holes.

Now they got your wheel locks, they just need to find a jack and come back for the wheels.

LOL

Remember folks: Lock your car!

Thanks, i will! ;)

+1 Hadnt thought of that before tbh, will give it a try ;)

On a serious note when i first got my clio i always used to manage to c**k up the locking of it. Either pressing it twice or just forgetting. Got away with it though luckily.

I left my 1.2 unlocked a few times overnight. Luckily no one thought it was worth going into.

On a side note, i was taking a closer look around a mk1 vee earlier this week, but the proximity alarm went off :quiet:

Feel for you there fella. Did exactly the same a few weeks back and some chav helped themselves to my Sony head unit. Wasn't an expensive one so not too bad and only myself to blame really. The standard tape player is back in now so at least it doesn't attract atttention! No damage to anything so not too bad i suppose. Just gutting tht the one night I leave it unlocked it gets the doors tried. Makes you wonder!

Since then I have sold my Fiesta so the clio now snuggles in the garage every night where it's a bit more secure, and have 2 cctv cameras watching over the drive and front of house. So next time they come around i'll break their chuffing legs. The anoying thing is if it had been the night before my Jack Russell dog would have been there and woken me up for sure.

You live and learn as they say!

Cant say I ever ever leave my car open... even if i'm at a cashpoint & the cars next to me I still lock it!

Do hide my locking wheel nuts keys though, they're not just in the glovebox!
