Manifold flange

Trying to take the CAT off tonight, which on axle stands is a pain in the *********************:mad:. Can't budge the lamdba, even with mallet, and i've not heat option. The clamp is even more annoying.

Anyway, looking at the join between the mani and the cat and the mani join is crumbling away. normal???????? :S

lol at "lol @ flange" ;) Rusty yeah and looks a bit suspect around the bit where the spring bolt holes are :( It's wierd considering the rest of the manifold looks sound

The flange is made from mild steel where ad the manifold is stainless

Haha! I've gain vast experience with this over the last week having had the cat off about 4 times whilst the car is on jack stands! The clamp isn't too bad, just get a large screw driver and force it open slightly. The cat should then pull away quite easy.

the screws won't undo all the way, so need to force it me thinks :(

You can get a clamp that has two joins and two bolts. Much easier. Look up my recent thread on the exhaust
