We bought Abi a little Acer laptop (pink of course) and it is the worst pile of s**t going....all because it runs off a memory card which apparentley windows doesn't like and as such takes about 20 mins to open anything..gutted as it looks great (for a little girl lol)

I have a very old Dell of similar spec. it's SLOW. I only use it for plugging into ECUs at is has an RS232 coms port

Is it the aspire one?
I installed ubuntu netbook remix on a friend of my mums son aspire one at the weekend and runs great, alot better than windows, and will only take a bit of getting used too, only prob will be the inability to run windows programs, would be fine for web browsing and office applications though, firefox and open office are installed as standard. Give me a shout if you'd like any more info or help
