Mark Fish-New Brakes

  182 Full Fat
Went to Mark Fish on Saturday to have the brakes upgraded.

Had Fitted:
New discs (Brembo hi-carbon)
Mintex Fast road pads
Goodridge Braided hoses
Dot 5 fluid

Just spent most of yesterday doing town driving to bed them in. I must say i am so impressed with the improvement! I haven't done an emergency stop test yet. But the pedal response os amazing. Throughly recommend him.
Details here: http://www.markfish.co.uk/ :star:

Cost £407 which sounds a lot, but did include labour and the time of someone who does a lot of work with race clio's and meganes. Parts alone were about £240. Well please with the results tho!

i got a 4pot conversion, and that was only £580 which was friggin dear for that. You could get a set of wilwood 4pots for circa £400, let alone some pads and discs and fitting (£167 for fitting, wtf?!)! but as long as u are happy with them thats the main thing.

That's the main thing. You went to a proper place and paid a reasonable price for expert work.

most companies do, don't they? I did about 250 miles gently to wear the disks in, then did several high speed slowing down exercises in quick succession to bed the pads in.

you dont need to wear in the discs... there are 2 parts to bedding in your brakes....
1 putting a thin layer of pad onto the disc
2 baking the pad free of its binding chemicals

Yeah as S22JGS says, wear the thin layer of pad onto the disc. Then after about 50 miles (thats all) you can hammer them! Mark recommended I did long gentle braking to warm the discs right through to begin with. I will say that although it wss £400, we did do a few other little jobs, like stop my exhaust knocking on heat shield. Plus tidy up the front splitter that was sitting loose.

Cool mate. Are you going to get brakes lines upgraded too? You will really feel the extra benefit!

Nice one. do they make that much dif. if so i'll get them in the post asap.lol. I'm terrible the now. spent like 1800 on bits in the last month and i've now got my manifold done and on its way to me. New oz wheels for xmas. :)

Brakes sound good

I would have fitted them myself though

I will probably have a go myself on the brake pads/discs next time, but wasn't too hot on what to do on the brake lines, and Mark spent 15odd minutes bleeding all the air out of it with his son, which I probably counld't have done properly! ;) Plus don't have any copper slip and other cleaning agents he used on discs. Just convienient!

Whoa there on the £407!!!!

Think Yozza is somewhat cheaper than that

Think he quoted about £350ish to me, but Mark was nearer, and had been recommended by people I know! Not that Yozza isn't as good of course! :approve:

for £350 you could've had our top spec pagid blue kit fitted!!

2-2.25 hrs labour (£45+vat) we charge to fit, prices for brake kits are on the website
